MEGALIM is committed to the protection of the environment in all aspects ofits activities.

 

As part of the company's safety, environmental and social involvement policy of the company's employees as well as the power plant's operating contractor share MEGALIM's commitment to protect the environment by complying with company policy and environmental regulations.

MEGALIM's environmental policy focuseson six main areas:
 

• Promotion of sustainable electricity generation technology - As the operator of the largest renewable energy power plant in Israel, MEGALIM creates an alternative to fossil fuel-fired power stations, thereby reducing air pollution and fuel consumption, reducing greenhouse gas emissions in Israel and contributing to the quality of life and the environment.
 

• Commitment to reduce energy consumption – MEGALIM monitors the station's internal energy consumption and invests efforts to reduce it, with an emphasis on continuous energy reduction and efficiency.
 

• Commitment to reduce water consumption and responsible treatment of waste and sewage - by saving consumption, responsible use, and using a variety of technologies for the treatment and recycling of wastewater.
 

• Rehabilitation of land and biodiversity - The solar technology of the MEGALIM power station is unique since it enables maximum conservation of the land route, thereby minimizing the impact on the environment, draining the streams and the variety of flora and fauna in the station area. The company works in full coordination with the Ministry of Environmental Protection and the various nature protection authorities to monitor and control the variety of existing flora and fauna that passes through the station area.
 

• Commitment to reduce waste - through managing the consumption of materials and chemicals and managing and separating waste, MEGALIM minimizes the waste generated by its activities and ensures their remove to authorized sites only.
 

• MEGALIM complies with all environmental laws and regulations and operates individual compliance programs to ensure compliance with the laws, conditions and guidelines of the authorities and bodies responsible for protecting the environment.
